For a Red Sea diving holiday, Emperor Divers offers award-winning Scuba Diving services across the Red Sea coast. They have provided top quality diving holidays in the Red Sea since 1992 and can offer either daily diving, liveaboards, hotel packages and dive courses under the supervision of a professional friendly team of dive experts.

In an interview with Mr. Luke Atkinson, General Manager of Emperor Divers, Red Sea, he said that the origin of the company had been evolved in the early Eighties, through a British couple who were living in the US and discovered the attraction of diving with PADI, now the largest SCUBA certification agency in the world. In the early nineties, they came over to Egypt and settled in Hurghada and saw the potential in the incredible, warm clear Red Sea for diving trip .They opened their first centre in the Princess Palace hotel 25 years ago with an Egyptian partner and began their first steps towards building the Emperor Divers company into what it is today. In 1995 they opened Sharm El Sheikh branch which quickly became the busiest diving destination in the country. They then moved South and launched the Marsa Alam branch in late 2004 in Marina Lodge Hotel in Port Ghalib city.

He added that the company’s name and great reputation was built on safety, professionalism and environmentalism, and this main factor let’s diving lovers head directly to the company. When offering diving there is a great mixture between the character, professionalism and friendliness of the team and the quality of the Red Sea itself. He stated that they have a very good connections with the other major diving centres, and they work closely with them as divers can often move from a diving center to another due to the different locations, dates of departure and availability, especially with regard to safari trips. He also said that during the last year the company has moved forward digitally as they changed from a company which focus on emails to embrace the new messaging platforms such as whatsapp, livechat, facebook messenger and viber allowing a huge choice of their clients’ preferred platforms.

He added that there are two big challenges nowadays that Red Sea diving faces, the first one is to contact and convince the people who haven’t been recently or at all to the Red Sea that it is currently offering world class diving and to change the people’s perception that it’s either an average diving destination or even unsafe for tourism.  For price, proximity to Europe and quality of diving he believes it to be the best value diving destination available. The other challenge was to keep up with digital age, where clients want information and communication faster than ever before.

He expressed that the special thing about diving in Marsa Alam and Port Ghalib generally is the laid back atmosphere; it’s a quiet, secure and clean place and the diving itself is relatively easy and relaxing without having to worry about strong currents, long boat trips or the need to go too deep that makes it a perfect place for a wonderfully relaxing dive holiday – with a great chance of turtles, dolphins or even a dugong. He explained that they train their staff and divers to minimize and manage the risks of SCUBA diving so thankfully incidents are extremely rare and usually very minor.

For Emperor, much of their recent business has been on liveaboards/safari although the daily diving has been steadily growing again. In the South Red Sea, the major diver markets are Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and UK for Emperor and finally a key fact is Emperor Divers service more than 70% repeat clients which shows that time and again people come back to them for the great diving and service they received before.
