Egypt's revenues from
the tourism sector jumped 77%, while the number of tourists to the country
increased by about 41%, according to Reuters .
"The number of foreigner
visitors, during the first six months of this year, jumped 5.061 million
compared to 3.6 million, in the same period, last year," a governmental official
declared to Reuters.
He added that tourism
revenues during the first 2 quarters of
the year mounted up to 4.781 billion dollars, up 77% compared to 2.7 billion
dollars a year ago.
The official verified that
there is higher expectations in increasing in the tourists traffic from Western
Europe, Italy, Germany and Ukraine in the fourth quarter of this year.
"The indicators
points that the tourism sector will achieve about 9 billion dollars by the end
of this year and that these figures marked a huge jump from last year's revenue
of $7.6 billion dollars" He confirmed.
